The Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator are utilized in a comprehensive assessment process which gives clients exceptional insight to effectively approach career change possibilities and career search. This incorporates background review, administration, comprehensive self-assessment, instrument interpretation, professional/personal career applications, standardized and personalized interpretive materials.

Career Change Strategies:

The Executive Outplacement Package below outlines the full range of services available to those who are considering or in the process of a career change.  One session with Successful Transitions can provide strategies for beginning the career change process leading to a more satisfying work/life.  Group sessions may be arranged.

Career Coaching:

Career Coaching provides strategies for maximizing your work performance, visibility and mobility in a rapidly changing workplace.  Coping with corporate politics, diverse management styles, mergers, acquisitions and downsizing can be an exciting though sometimes frustrating experience.  Coaching can provide a non-threatening opportunity to vent, an unbiased viewpoint, insight and perspective on workplace dynamics.

Job Search Strategies:

Looking for the right job rather than just another job?  Learn to assess your work/life needs, research career opportunities, plan a successful job campaign and effectively market yourself on paper, electronically and in person.  Group sessions may be arranged.

Resume Development:

Whether you require just a brief consultation on targeting or improving your current resume, assistance in developing a more effective format or the full-scale resume service described under Executive Outplacement Package below; Success Transitions can give you the competitive advantage.

Video, Multimedia or Web Page Resumes:

Retirement can provide wonderful opportunities for growth and fulfillment!  Whether you're single or have a partner with whom you share your life, you can greatly benefit from developing skills to plan your leisure activity or "third life" career for maximum enjoyment.  Learn to assess your needs for individual, couple and group interaction time and how to locate interesting activities to meet those needs. Couples are welcomed! (Financial Planning not included).         

Executive Outplacement Package:

The following service components of the Successful Transitions Executive Outplacement Package may be obtained separately or as part of a comprehensive outplacement service for individuals or groups.

  1. Career Assessment: Successful Transitions provides the two most widely used, standardized career assessment instruments available, the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator in a comprehensive assessment process which gives clients exceptional insight to effectively approach career change possibilities and career search.  It incorporates background review, administration, comprehensive self-assessment, instrument interpretation, professional/personal career applications, standardized and personalized interpretive materials.
  2. Market Research: Clients learn how to research career information through print, Internet and media resources in any U.S. job market using both print and electronic media.  Includes demonstration and hands-on computer training.
  3. Resume Development: Resume package includes career targeting, goal setting. review and critique of current resume (when applicable), transferable skills assessment, training in position-targeting resume development techniques, and collaborative resume development. Word processing, multiple copies of completed resume, electronic format and diskette for alternative format development are included.
  4. Action Planning: Clients learn job search skills to include developing formal and informal job market lead resources, networking, telephone techniques, interviewing, negotiation, organization and time management skills.  Each client will develop a career search strategy based on personal work style including time/task goal setting and will receive a customized career transition workbook.

Follow-up Services: Most clients greatly benefit from on-going, weekly career search counseling sessions to stay on course, practice and refine above learned skills, maintain momentum and avoid depression. It has been determined that the average job search takes 1 month per each $10,000.00 in annual salary required by the job seeker. On-going services are available at an hourly rate. Telephone and Internet consultation is also available.
